Chesapeake will not drill within New York City watershed

Chesapeake Energy Corp., Oklahoma City, has reported it has no intention of drilling natural gas wells within the New York City watershed in upstate New York.The assets, in the southern tier of New York, were considered possibly prospective for Marcel-lus shale, but chief executive Aubrey K. McClendon says the company will not pursue any further operations in the area.
