Cowen: 'Big Three' will see biggest cuts in spending

Cowen and Co.'s recently published Original E&P Spending Survey results indicate that in 2015, E&P companies' spending should decline about 15% globally, driven by weakness everywhere but the Middle East. Only 5% of U.S. companies, out of the 476 companies sur- veyed worldwide, judged "the economics of exploration to be good or excellent, down from 58% a year ago."
