Oil tanker owners have reacted with concern to the seizure of the VLCC belonging to Saudi Arabia.The vessel-the Sirius Star-was carrying an estimated 2 mn barrels of crude oil,worth around 100 mn when it was attacked and boarded some 450 nautical miles east of the Kenyan port of Mombasa,on 15th November.It was taken to the Somali port of Harard-here,then moored off the Somali coast along with its 25-man crew.A ransom of 25 mn was demanded for the release of the vessel and its crew.
