USA: BP has made a massive oil discovery in the Gulf of Mexico. The Timber well is located at Keath-ley Canyon block 102 in 4,132 feet of water, and is the world's deepest well, having been drilled to 35,050 feet. The prospect is estimated to hold over 3 bn boe, thought appraisal work is still necessary to determine the field's size and potential.
