Manufacturers Expect Orders for Offshore Arctic

Extensive development of Russia's offshore Arctic fields holds a lot of promise in the future, but petroleum companies have already begun contemplating what equipment they will use in order to recover Arctic reserves. A great deal of imported machinery is used in the current Russian projects, while locally made equipment often operates in offshore projects abroad. Meanwhile, market players involved in numerous offshore projects are keen to place orders with domestic manufacturers, including Russia's shipbuilders, which could spearhead development of the domestic shipbuilding industry.
