Last year was lackluster for the U.K. offshore, reports Edinburgh-based consulting firm Wood Mackenzie. In 2002, 14 fields containing 400 million barrels of oil equivalent (BOE) started production on the U.K. conti-nental shelf (UKCS). That was a 70% decrease from 2001, when 16 fields containing 1.34 billion BOE were brought onstream.
