Jefferies: Shale economics 'unlike anything ever seen'

The amazing returns that the gas shales generate have attracted billions of dollars, but leasing in these plays may be coming to an end. "We are in the fifth, sixth, maybe even seventh inning for the shales. No major gas shale play was discovered in North America in 2010, and the period of discovering new oil shales is nearly over," said Ralph Eads, head of energy investment banking for Jefferies & Co. at its energy conference in Houston.
