A Logan County, 111., remote exploratory test is planned by Enhanced Energy Partners Corp. The #1 Hanner is slated for Section 23-18n-3w to a planned depth of 2,990 ft. It is one of the deepest wells planned in this part of the state. The wildcat exploratory test targets Shakopee (Knox). Nearby drilling is at #1 Gimble-Cole Unit in Section 14. Drilled in 1956, this well reached 1,597 ft in Silurian. Also in the 1950s, #1 Starr-Broughton (Section 22) was drilled to 1,610 ft and bottomed in Silurian. The deepest test in the area, #1 P.L. Weidenbacker, in Section 24, reached 1,700 ft and was completed in 1980. Eleven miles south of Enhanced Energy Partners' new location is Silurian production in Sangamon County' s Mechanicsburg Field. East of Mechanicsburg Field is additional Silurian production in Roby East Field. Enhanced Energy Partners is based in Tomball, Texas.
