Blackstone Group LP (NYSE: BX), the private-equity firm led by billionaire Stephen Schwarzman, has agreed to acquire Royal Dutch Shell Pic's (NYSE: RDS-A, RDS-B) 50% stake in a shale gas field in Louisiana, according to Bloomberg. Blackstone will pay about $1.2 billion for Shell's half-interest in the Haynes-ville Formation.
