Gazprom Neft Highlights Key Points for Production New Offshore Projects and the Development of Hard-to-Recover Reserves are High Priorities

The decline in output from West Siberian oilfields is forcing oil producers to adopt different extraction methods. In order to prevent decline and even increase production at these fields, Gazprom Neft is acquiring stakes in new projects offshore and plans to begin developing hard-to-recover reserves. However, the company would not be able to draw up long-term plans in these new directions if it weren't for critical changes in government policy. The Russian government has promised new tax preferences for oil producers engaging in the development of hard-to-recover reserves, and Gazprom Neft in turn has adopted new technologies developed around the world in the past few years.
