CpntiTech Introduces Low Lead Time Rotary Hoses for Directional Drilling

About 50 percent of production wells are drilled today using directional drilling. Fluctuations in pressure which are applied to direct the drill bit as well as high temperatures place more stringent requirements on rotary and vibrator hoses than conventional vertical drilling. This is reflected in the relevant API standard (API Spec. 7K Addendum 2, 2006), which introduced a new requirement level for high pressure mud hoses used in directional drilling, called Flexible Specification Level 2 (abbreviated as FSL 2). ContiTech Rubber Industrial Kft. met FSL 2 requirements with its epoxy bonded coupling shortly after the requirement was published, but it took several weeks or a few months to install them.
