A summary of Surveillance for notifiable avian influenza in Israel, 5th semi-annual national routine surveillance

Intensive surveillance was continued in Israel to ensure that no highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) or notifiable avian influenza (NAI) viruses were circulating in the poultry population in Israel. The surveillance was carried out in healthy flocks by serology and in flocks showing clinical signs by virus isolation and/orpolymerase chain reaction (PCR).
