Although it my not always seem like it, there are laws that protect farmers. For example, if a farmer provides crops to a distributor, the farmer has a lien in the goods that were provided to secure their payment. In addition, if a farmer agrees to board animals for another person, the farmer has a lien in the amount of services that were provided. Thus, farmers have remedies when it comes to securing payment for the goods or services they provide.
