Many Albertans woke up on May 6th to severai inches of freshly fallen snow, but the greater shock was the fact that the ieft-ieaning New Democrats had won the provincial election the night before. Under the lesdership of Rachel Notley, the party had ridden a surprising surge of public support to end the 43-year reign of the Progressive Conservatives.
