It may be time to lower expectations for liquefied natural gas (LNG) on Canada's west coast. Hopes are high for the industry, which the B.C. government expects to generate enough revenue to wipe out the provincial debt by 2028 and create a $100-billion prosperity fund. But in a new report, David Hughes, president of Global Sustainability Research Inc., argues that the production and drilling capacity needed to meet those lofty expectations are almost impossible to achieve.
