Alberta history provides a word to the wise in the petroleum industry and to all sectors affected by the behaviour of the provincial government. Political risk stands at a rare high. The province has a precedent for scandal forcing a premier to quit. The case does not inspire confidence in defenders of the status quo and especially not in leaders who try to clean up after the resignation.
