Since 2007, greenhouse gas emitters in Alberta have been governed under the Specified Gas Emitters Regulation. But with the legislation coming up for renewal in September, the province is now looking at tweaking the rules governing carbon pricing in Alberta. Environment and Sustainable Resource Development Minister Robin Campbell revealed the government is currently reviewing the regulations during a late-January talk at a Carbon Management Canada workshop. In a written copy of his speech from the invitation-only event, Campbell outlines the four questions the govern mentis asking as it ponders possible changes.
