The recession took its toll on a lot of oilpatch service and supply companies, and Demon Oilfield Services was no exception. "I'm very happy to see 2009 behind us," says Cory Finley, the oil and gas well production testing company's founder and president. During the downturn, Cory, a Class of 2009 Rising Star, saw a lot of his competitors perish. But he managed to squeak through on the back of the one play that weathered the storm better than the rest in western Canada.
