Syncrude cuts capital cost of mine train replacement to $3.9 billion

Partners in Syncrude Canada Ltd. are reducing the projected capital cost of the Mildred Lake mine train replacement by $300 million. Ryan Kubik, president and chief executive officer of majority owner Canadian Oil Sands Limited, says the cut is thanks to the absence of unplanned events during project execution along with better estimates going into it.
