Accelerated Growth of Soybean Crushings And Soya Meal Exports in South America...

Following the partly disappointing performance in the first quarter of 2014, world supplies and exports of soya meal are seen recovering to multi-year highs in Apr/June and July/Sept 2014 in view of the record S. American soybean crop and crushings. Shipments of the 5 major exporting countries, viz. the US, Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and India, already experienced a pronounced 1.3 Mn T increase from the previous month to 4.86 Mn T in April and are seen rocketing to 15.7 Mn T in the full quarter, up from only 10.9 Mn in Jan/Mar 2014. The declining soya meal exports from the US and India are thus expected to be more than offset by the rising shipments from Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay.
