The Soya Meal Market Is Challenged by Ample Supplies and Stiff Competition from Alternative Feed Ingredients

In Oct/Sept 2016/17 the prospective increase in soya meal output is seen coinciding with the recovery in output of 11 other oilmeals, boosting combined production of 12 oilmeals by 14.2 Mn to 338.4 Mn T compared with a growth of only 3.7 Mn T in 2015/16. Within the group of 11 other oilmeals we forecast only rape meal production to decline from a year before due to the further reduction of global rapeseed supplies and crushings.
