Hardfacing, hardbanding wire: serve up, mid, downstream

New Stoody hardfacing and hardbanding wires have been developed to withstand oil and gas operational erosion and corrosion. Seven new all-position nickel-based flux cored welding wires are available for drilling (exploration), pipeline transportation, as well as processing and storage according to the manufacturer. They deposit 10 to 15 lb of weld metal per hour — declared three to five-times the production rate of stick welding. At the same time they are said to "offer the robustness of manual process stick electrodes with higher productivity rates associated with semi-automatic welding."
