Trans Orient in new East Coast Basin play

VANCOUVER-BASED OIL and gas explorer Trans-Orient Petroleum Ltd recently raised US5.9 million,which will go towards expanding the company's operations in New Zealand and Southeast Asia.In December last year,the company was awarded a 100% interest in two large petroleum exploration permits in New Zealand's onshore East Coast Basin in the North Island,where it plans to examine the potential of older fractured oil-rich shales.
