Freight rates for crude oil for tanker size (230-280 thousand deadweight tons dwt ), leaving Middle Eastern ports to the East went down in March 2011 by 4.5% or (3 points) to 63 points on the World Scale* (WS). Similarly, freight rates for tanker size (270 - 285 thousand deadweight tons dwt), leaving Middle Eastern ports to the West, were up by 4.8% or (2 points) to 44 points on the World Scale* (WS).
