Field studies were conducted in Russia, from 2000 to 2009, to develop irrigation regimes and fertilizer rates for growing the potato cultivars Red Scarlet and Impala. The treatments comprised different irrigation treatments, mineral and organic fertilizer rates, forecrops (onions and winter rye) and herbicides for weed control. The potato yield in all treatments was determined. Results showed that the use of mineral and organic fertilizers and trace elements with trickle irrigation on light chestnut soils can obtain potato yields of up to 75.5 t/ha.Notes translated from Doklady Rossiiskoi Akademii Sel'skokhozyaistvennykh Nauk (2010) No. 4, 15-16 (Ru)
