Determination of area of drought-affected crops based on satellite data (exemplified by crops in Chuvashia in 2010).

A method is developed for determining at the level of a federal subject of Russia the area of drought-affected crops based on using MODIS and Landsat satellite data. Underlying the method is a comparative analysis of the behavior of the vegetation index in the current and other seasons during the past ten years.
