Atlanta tire recycler Lehigh Technologies raising $11M for global expansion

Tucker, Ga.-based Lehigh Technologies Inc. is raising $11 million in venture capital, according to a Securities & Exchange Commission filing. Lehigh, which converts discarded car tires and other post-industrial rubber into micronized rubber powder, plans to invest the capital in a global expansion. The manufacturer has raised about $7 million of the planned raise, according to the filing. Lehigh is backed by Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Index Ventures, NGP Energy Technology Partners and Leaf Clean Energy Co.
