With the increasing number of vehicle population in India (It is estimated that in the next 20 years, i 380 million vehicles will be on Indian roads) and heavy dependence of crude oil imports, fuel efficiencies of vehicles have always been and will remain very critical to India and Indian consumers. One of the challenges that Indian automobile manufacturers are working on is to reduce the weight of the vehicle and thereby improve the fuel efficiency while meeting the enhanced performance and the stringent emission norms.
