The purpose of raw materials preparation is to produce a uniform body that will maintain optimal drying speed and correct reactivity during firing. Bodies for tile production consist of mixtures of different raw materials, principally clay, quartz and feldspar. The operations involved in the body preparation process consist of grinding, mixing/homogenization and adjustment of water content.
