(Interfax) - Alrosa, Russia's Yakutia-based diamond monopoly, has decided to start charging VAT again on rough diamond sales to Russian cutting plants from January 1, 2008, the company told Interfax on November 2. The company will discontinue the concession it currently awards, and the price of diamond sold to these plants will include 18 percent VAT.
