摘要

Sara Radstone cannot use her studio just now. The wooden shed in her South-East London garden was letting in water; the windows were rotted, 'It was unworkable in' she says. 'So there's not much of my work in there just now I am afraid.' But reconstruction is in progress and she leads me to the end of the Greenwich garden to see. Leah the spotted (and beautiful) collie-labrador dog follows. What is in there, hanging on the just re-painted white wall, is a delicate skeletal four-inch fragment of ceramic net: scrim hessian that has been dipped in slip and fired. It looks frail; I don't dare even to ask if I may touch it.
