Alternative Method in Technology of Establishing Irrigated Fruit Plantations

The results of research into an alternative, energy-saving method of establishing fruit plantations in two fruit zones of Krasnodar krai are presented. It has been demonstrated in modern orchards that, while providing the trees with the required moisture and mineral nutrition reserves, continuous mellowing (plan-tage ploughing) causes additional costs for expropriating excessive wood. In addition, planting the seeding into the trench causes no depression, but the economic productivity under equal conditions increases by 6— 17% as compared with the control variant of planting the seedlings into the pits; in doing so there is no deterioration of commodity fruit quality.
