ZANGEZUR COPPER-MOLYBDENUM PLANT TO DOUBLE ORE PROCESSING BY 2010

(Interfax) - Armenia's Zangezur Copper-Molybdenum Plant could double ore processing to 20 million tonnes per year in 2009-2010 following its modernization, TVS executive director Mikhail Arustamian told Interfax on April 20. IVS is a division of Russia's NPO RIVS, which has been carrying out the plant's modernization since 2005. Arustamian said RIVS plans to update almost all the plant's equipment and complete the comprehensive modernization by 2010. The plant's management has already asked RIVS to expand ore processing capacity to 20 million tonnes per year and the company plans to begin the expansion in 2008, he said.
