Ukrainian mines reduced iron ore production in January 2011. Poltava Mining, the core asset of the London-listed Ferrexpo plc, cut iron ore pellet production 6.4% year-on-year to 810,000 tonnes, and concentrate production 1.4% to 910,000 tonnes, Poltava Mining told Interfax. The Metinvest holding's Central Mining, from Kryviy Rih, reduced commercial pellet production 2.9% to 200,000 tonnes, and concentrate production 2.4% to 490,000 tonnes.
