KAZAKHSTAN YET TO MAKE DECISION ON REDUCTION OF MET RATES FOR LOW-PROFIT FIELDS

The government of Kazakhstan has yet to adopt a decision on reduction of the mineral extraction tax rates (MET) for low-profit fields. "The work is in progress. There are many variants but we didn't find the acceptable one," Vera Khnyukh, the director of the tax policy and forecast department from the Ministry of Economy and Budget Planning, told Interfax-Kazakhstan. Meanwhile, in late January Khnyukh reported, that Kazakh government may adopt a resolution on reduction of the mineral extraction tax rates (MET) for low-profit fields in mid February.
