MECHEL'S YUZHNY KUZBASS TO LAUNCH 100-MILLION DOLLARS COAL MINE IN FALL

Mechel Steel Group's Yuzhny Kuzbass Coal Company plans to commission the new Olzherasskaya deep mine, which cost more than 100 million dollars to complete, in the Kemerovo region in the fall of 2006, Mechel's press office told Interfax on August 22. The mine will eventually be capable of producing 3 million tonnes per year. The first stage will have the capacity to produce 1.5 million tpy.
