Britain's Oriel Resources, which is currently being acquired by Russia's OJSC Mechel, and TOO GRK Kazakhstan Nickel intend to commence construction of the first section of a mining and metal works for the production of ferronickel in the Kostanai region, the director of Kazakhstan Nickel's Zhitikara branch, Oleg Balabanov, told Interfax on April 17. More than 200 million dollars is expected to be invested in the project, Balabanov said.
