LONDON. (Interfax) - Peter Hambro Mining (PHM) pic increased gold production in Russia 5 percent to 260,800 ounces in 2006, from 249,300 oz in 2005, the company said in a January 22 statement. The growth was driven by PHM's core asset, Pok-rovsky Rudnik in the Amur region, which increased output to 206,300 oz in 2006 from 185,700 oz in 2005. PHM in September 2006 forecast it would produce just over 250,000 oz of gold in 2006. Production grew 6 percent year-on-year to 108,363 oz in the first half of 2006. PHM has said it aims to be producing 1.2 million oz per year by 2009. PHM also holds a license to the Pioneer deposit in the Amur region.
