GLOBAL GOLD INVESTS 5.5 MILLION DOLLARS IN ARMENIAN GOLD INDUSTRY

Global Gold Mining has invested 5.5 million dollars in Armenia's gold industry since 2004, Ashot Pogosian, the U.S. company's regional director, told a press conference. Pogosian said 1.5 million dollars of this was spent on the acquisition of 51 percent of Armenia's Mego Gold, which held the rights to the Tukhmanuk gold field and which built a recovery plant. Another 2 million dollars went on mining equipment that was delivered to the Tukhmanuk field a week ago. Global Gold Mining has spent 500,000 dollars on exploration at the site.
