Mechel closes Q2 with 192 mln dollars in US GAAP net profit, below forecast

Mechel Group posted 191.9 million dollars in US GAAP net profit for the second quarter of 2011, a decrease of 38% from the result for the first quarter, the coal and steel producer said in a statement. The company's EBITDA in the second quarter went up by 8% to 612 million dollars while sales revenue increased by 18.3% to 3.47 billion dollars. The EBITDA margin came to 17.6%, compared to 19.2% in the first quarter.
