ENRC BUYS 25 PERCENT OF SHUBARKOL KOMIR FOR 200 MILLION DOLLARS

Eurasian Natural Resources Corporation (ENRC) has acquired a 25 percent share of Shy-barkol Komir JSC, Kazakhstan's major producer of thermal coal, for 200 million dollars, ENRC said on February 16. The block of shares was purchased though a public auction on the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE). ENRC said that the registration of the shares on the KASE would be completed by the end of the first quarter. Credit Suisse Securities (Europe) Limited acted as a sole financial advisor for the transaction.
