NLMK TO START BUILDING KUZBASS COAL MINE IN 2010

Novolipetsk Steel (NLMK) plans to start building the Zhernovskaya-1 coal mine, capacity 3 million tonnes of coking coal per year, in the Kemerovo region's Novokuznetsk district in 2010, Alexander Shablovsky, the technical director of NLMK's representative office in Novokuznetsk, told reporters on March 17. NLMK plans to set 23.5 million rubles in funding aside for the pre-design phase this year, Shablovsky said after a socio-economic cooperation agreement was signed with the regional administration.
