The rights to the Neryudin-skoye, Polivskoye and Kapayevskoye iron ore fields in the Irkutsk region will be put up for auction on October 27. Irkutsknedra, the regional branch of the Russian Federal Subsurface Resources Agency (Rosnedra), said 20-year licenses to explore and mine the deposits, which have drawn interest from the likes of the Mechel steel group in the past, would be offered at the auctions. The 13.4-square kilometer Neryudinskoye field, 110 kilometers from Ust-Ilimsk, contains B reserves of 123 million tonnes, C1 - 511.9 million tonnes and C2 - 74.9 million tonnes, listed as of January 1, 2009.
