REGULATOR CLEARS ALTAI GOLD, POLYMETAL FIELD AUCTIONS FOR H2

The Russian Federal Subsurface Resources Agency (Rosnedra) has approved a list of five polymetallic ore deposits and two gold properties for which exploration and mining rights may be auctioned during the third and fourth quarters of 2009, Anatoly Zaitsev, the chief of Altainedra, the agency's local branch, told Interfax. The list of deposits that had been submitted to Rosnedra for approval included the Sredneye, Maiskoye and Lazurskoye polymetal fields in the Zmeinogorsk district and Yubileinoye in the Lokot district; and the Bashchelak gold mineralization in the Charysh district and Uksunai vein gold property in the Togul district.
