EN+ REACHES AGREEMENT WITH MONTENEGRO ON MAJOR CUTBACKS AT SMELTER

Oleg Deripaska's En+ Group has reached agreement with the Montenegrin government on major cutbacks at the company's aluminum smelter in Podgorica (KAP) and the bauxite mine at Niksic (RBN). The agreement calls for laying off 2,300 of the more than 3,900 people currently employed at the two concerns. The agreement was signed by En+ Deputy General Director Michael Nossal and Montenegrin Economics Minister Branco Vujovic, En+ said in a statement.
