YAKUTIA BOOSTS CUT DIAMOND PRODUCTION 36.5 percent IN 9 MTHS

Diamond cutting plants from Yakutia boosted output 36.5 percent year-on-year in January-September 2008 to 142.6 million dollars, Vladimir Fyodorov, the internal Russian republic's deputy industry minister, said in the republic's parliament. Yakutia's nine cutting plants produced 104.5 million dollars in cut and polished diamonds in January-September last year, Fyodorov said at a session devoted to the state of the local gem-manufacturing industry.
