STEEL CONSUMPTION IN UKRAINE EXPECTED TO JUMP 25-30 PERCENT IN 2007

KYIV. (Interfax) - Consumption of steel products in Ukraine could jump 25-30 percent this year, to 9.5 million-10 million tonnes, according to a forecast cited by the Derzhzovnishinform information center in a press release for the Metal Forum Ukraine 2007 being held on October 18-20. Demand for steel products in key sectors such as engineering, metalwork and construction is expected to grow 40-50 percent in 2007.
