LSE LAUNCHES OFFICIAL TRADING IN SEVERSTAL GDR

The London Stock Exchange (LSE) has launched official trading in Global Depositary receipts (GDR) for shares in Severstal, the Russian steel major told Interfax on November 14. Severstal floated around 9.1 percent of its shares in an IPO at 12.5 dollars per GDR last week. The LSE is trading the GDR under the SVST ticker. The LSE said the GDRs started trading from 11.7 dollars each. During the placement, investors were offered 85 million shares and GDR, which amounts to about 9.1 percent of the company's charter capital. In addition, 12.75 million shares have been offered in an option for the priority purchase of shares. The total amount raised from the placement amounted to 1,063 billion dollars.
