ALROSA UPS DIAMOND MINE PRODUCTION 1.6 percent IN 2007

Alrosa, Russia's Yakutia-based diamond monopoly, increased diamond mine output 1.6 percent or 38 million dollars in 2007 to 2.37 billion dollars, the company said following a meeting of company officials in Mirny on March 29. The figure includes production by the Alrosa-Nyurba subsidiary. Targeted production this year, including by the Al-rosa-Nyurba subsidiary, is 2,289 billion dollars. Thus, production could fall 3.4 percent this year. Revenue from the sale of core products is expected to be level with last year at 2.9 billion dollars.
