Technical requirements for the connection of local generators to a distribution network

A new generator can only be connected to a distribution network if certain technical requirements are met. These requirements arise from the need to protect equipment and personnel, and to guarantee the quality of the supply, etc. The problem isexacerbated by the fact that the distribution networks were not originally designed to be fed by a large number of small generators. This article describes the main steps to be followed when connecting a generator to both HV and MV networks.
